Georgia is the manatee that I adopted today! We spent part of the day at Blue Springs State Park in Orange City. The boardwalk follows the flowing Blue Spring run through a shady hammock, which is connected to the St. John River. On cool winter days, the manatees swim to the run where the water is always 72 degrees. The manatees cannot survive in cold water, so they seek out warm springs. Today there were 233 manatees in the run, and we were all amazed at their beauty and gentleness! Some weigh over 1,000 pounds! A beautiful setting, watching a beautiful animal!
Beautiful photo!!
