Anniversary Fun!

Laurie imbibing on piwa (beer)!
Outside Polish Village Cafe
The firehouse my Dad worked at
The house I grew up in-12038 Lumpkin
The house Richie grew up in-9524 Charest

Here are a few photos from our anniversary! First, we went to mass at St. Ladislaus...the only mass on Sunday is in Polish!! We talked to the priest after (actually, Richie did, in Polish!) and he said we should have said something before mass, he would have given us a special blessing...but we felt blessed just to be there, 40 years later! Then we went to Polish Village Cafe, and met Kristie and Laurie there! We all enjoyed our dinners, Laurie and I had the Polish Plate (kielbasa, pierogi, golabki, kapusta & mashed potatoes) Richie had city chicken, and Kristie had potato pancakes & pierogi! We also had nalishniki (strawberry crepes) and Laurie had a Polish beer, she said it was good. Then we all hopped in the car and took a ride through the streets of Hamtramck--Keyworth Stadium, little league fields, Lumpkin Street, Kosciuszko School, Copernicus School, Charest Street, St. Florian and Jos. Campau! Its amazing...some streets/houses were well taken care of, while others were in major disrepair. On Friday we are going to Saugatuck, Holland and Lansing (to watch the Lansing Lugnuts play!) and will return home on Monday...just a little getaway!
