On August 7-10, Richie and I took a little break and headed out to Lake Michigan, Saugatuck, Holland, Lansing and Frankenmuth. The weather was not all that cooperative, either rainy or extremely hot, but it did not deter our time away! Saugatuck was very crowded with families and vacationers like us, but its a pretty little town...the best part was the uncrowded Oval Beach on Lake Michigan...we parked our beach chairs and sat on the beach for about 3 hours, then came back at dusk to watch the sun go down..AWESOME! We spent Saturday in Holland, taking in all things Dutch, and enjoying the Windmill Island Gardens. Sunday was on to Lansing, taking in a Lansing Lugnuts Baseball game. Even tho the heat was getting to me, we had great fun at Oldsmobile Park watching the Lugnuts beat the Dayton Dragons 10-9. We capped off our road trip on Monday at the Bavarian Inn, then headed home and back to daily life.
