AlooooHA is the way the island "cousins" welcome all the tourists to their paradise! They also call everyone "cousin" because they believe everyone in Hawaii is their "ohana" (family)! Even though there are a dwindling number of 100% Hawaiian blooded residents, their love of the islands and its beauty gives us mainlanders a peek into the past, and a hope that their culture will remain preserved for future generations.
Got back from beautiful Waikiki Beach yesterday...now I'm back in the real world! Jean and I had a simply marvelous time!!! Weather was hot...ocean breezes made us feel much better...took in a lot of beautiful landscapes, soaked up the true island spirit and enjoyed each moment!!
